Our library has a new look!
At the start of the school year, plans were underway to renovate our school library. The goal was to make the library a comfortable space where students could relax and read. The excitement and enthusiasm kept students asking "When is the new furniture coming?!" Well, on Wednesday, January 25th the new furniture arrived. In addition to new lounge seating, the library got a fresh coat of paint and computers were relocated along the walls. Students and faculty have been enjoying the new space.
This project was funded by our very generous FSA. Thank you to everyone in the FSA for making the students and reading a priority!

Culture Appreciation Day
On Friday, January 27th, Mary Seat of Wisdom students traveled around the world. With their passports in hand, students visited other classrooms, each representing another country. Classrooms studied different countries and then presented their knowledge to other classrooms in song, dance, games and pictures. The library hosted Literature from Around the World and children experienced stories from Brazil, Kenya, Peru, Chile, Colombia, China, Spain, Italy, and more. The entire school body also gave "a hand" in decorating the bulletin board outside of the library. There is so much talent at MSW! |

PK4 makes the walls at MSW more colorful!
After reading Time Out For Monsters by Jean Reidy, the preschoolers took to the blank walls of our school. We hope Mrs. Due does not find out we colored on the wall. We do not like "time outs"!

We are very THANKFUL for our library and the new PLAYAWAYS!
Our library is lucky to be able to build our Playaway collection. Playaways are audio books. Researchers have found that listening to an audio book improves comprehension and fluency, increases motivation, expands vocabulary and increases reading accuracy. Plus, the students love them!
New titles include: Ruby Holler by Sharon Creech, Walk Two Moons by Sharon Creech, The Tale of Despereaux by Katie DiCamillo, Back to School: Weird Kids Rule by Dan Gutman, Finally by Wendy Mass, Judy Moody was in a mood by Megan McDonald, Wonder by RJ Palacio, Amelia Bedelia by Peggy Parish, Mudshark by Gary Paulsen and Curious George and other stories by HA Rey and Margaret Rey.
**Parental Permission is required to check out a Playaway. Click here for a form.
